For the ultimate in contemporary home décor, what better way to achieve the look than window treatments. Let’s face it, windows can look fairly bland, they let heat out and force you to organize your room around them. Why not use them with contemporary home décor to make them a focal point and something which works with the design of your rooms instead of them being slightly boring to look at. What furnishings you use on the windows can be directly related to the furniture you have and make your living room complete.
Contemporary window treatments
• Roman Shades – This pleated fabric window treatment looks great, keeps light out when you need it to and keep the heat in, while looking great in the process. For the ultimate in contemporary home décor, Roman shades offer a fantastic way to achieve it.
• Venetian Blinds – With different sizes and colors, Venetian blinds are widely used in contemporary home décor. Vertical blinds made from fabric or vinyl can add a perfect window treatment for sliding patio doors.
• Shutters – Contemporary home décor includes shutters too. They are so versatile as you can get them made to measure and they let as much light in as you want or they keep the light out tremendously. Some styles and shapes of windows suit having shutters better than others, such as small, quaint cottages windows.
• Topper – For large windowed houses, they can fall into the trap of being boring and too much of a blank space. A topper is a type of window treatment which gives life to the window and is definitely part of contemporary home décor design. Fabric which covers the top part of the window and hangs down makes the boring window a focal point, instead of being a problem.
